The NEC’s mission is to reduce pollution, conserve resources and improve quality of life by offering tools for energy-efficient living. For more information, visit NEC’s website.

Home Energy

The NEC offers a variety of home energy conservation programs to meet community needs – from workshops on do-it-yourself home energy conservation techniques, to home energy audits, to advanced analysis of home energy performance.

Energy Improvement Financing

The NEC promotes residential energy improvements by providing financing to homeowners. Three loan products are currently available: Fix-Up Fund, Suburban Ramsey County Energy Conservation Deferred Loan, and Minnesota Energy Loan.

Rental properties can also receive financing through the NEC with financing for rental property owners in Suburban Ramsey County, and the Rental Rehabilitation Loan Program.

HOURCAR

The NEC manages the Twin Cities’ award-winning car sharing program that offers cars by the hour to members who prefer transit, walking and biking to car ownership. Cars are conveniently located in neighborhoods throughout Minneapolis and Saint Paul. HOURCAR’s fleet makes a powerful green statement on the road by using low-emissions hybrids, fuel-efficient sedans and two advanced plug-in hybrids that are powered by solar energy. HOURCAR has great rates and membership plans for individuals, households, and businesses. Find out more at NEC’s HOURCAR website.
